The Regional Planning Commission (RPC) serves as the designated Economic Development District for Jefferson, Orleans, Plaquemines, St. Bernard and St. Tammany Parishes as well as the Metropolitan Planning Organization (MPO) for all these parishes plus St. Charles and St. John parishes (MPO related with transportation). As the Economic Development District, the Regional Planning Commission works with local economic development organizations to develop and implement a shared regional comprehensive economic development strategy (CEDS).



Brownfield Initiatives

Through grants from the US Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), the RPC provides assistance to those interested in redeveloping Brownfield sites in the city of New Orleans and the parishes of Jefferson, Plaquemines, St. Bernard and St. Tammany.

A cost reimbursable program providing funds to create a more balanced transportation system. It requires a sponsoring entity (parishes, municipal governments, universities, non-profits, or other local government agencies) that contributes matching funds.
