Southwest LA

In 2009, the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development and Louisiana Office of Community Development – Disaster Recovery Unit funded the Community Resiliency Pilot Program (CRPP) for the development of 30 resilience projects around the state.  These 30 resilience grants range from zoning ordinance updates to water management strategies, but central to all projects is the integration of resilience principles into community planning efforts.

Regional Housing Study

As part of the CRPP, the Southwest Louisiana (SWLA) Economic Development Alliance is integrating resilience into a comprehensive regional housing study to assist stakeholders in the strategic planning process and devise a strategic framework to guide future housing and community development decisions in the region.

Check back for more information on this project as the planning documents are finalized and made available.
