Louisiana Wetland Action Program

In 2009, the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development and Louisiana Office of Community Development – Disaster Recovery Unit funded the Community Resiliency Pilot Program (CRPP) for the development of 30 resilience projects around the state.  These 30 resilience grants range from zoning ordinance updates to water management strategies, but central to all projects is the integration of resilience principles into community planning efforts.

As part of the CRPP, Global Green, an environmental nonprofit organization, is engaging Louisiana landowners in resilience efforts through the Louisiana Wetland Action Program to facilitate emerging market opportunities, enhance local and national public education, and support coastal protection and restoration.

Check back for more information on this project as the planning documents are finalized and made available.
