Vermilion Parish Comprehensive Resiliency Plan

In 2009, the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development and Louisiana Office of Community Development – Disaster Recovery Unit funded the Community Resiliency Pilot Program (CRPP) for the development of 30 resilience projects around the state.  These 30 resilience grants range from zoning ordinance updates to water management strategies, but central to all projects is the integration of resilience principles into community planning efforts.

As part of the CRPP, Vermilion Parish is integrating resilience into their land use plan by developing a comprehensive resiliency plan to increase the parish’s capacity to handle and expedite recovery from disasters.

Check back for more information on this project as the planning documents are finalized and made available.
