St. Bernard Parish Water Resource Management

In 2009, the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development and Louisiana Office of Community Development – Disaster Recovery Unit funded the Community Resiliency Pilot Program (CRPP) for the development of 30 resilience projects around the state.  These 30 resilience grants range from zoning ordinance updates to water management strategies, but central to all projects is the integration of resilience principles into community planning efforts.

As part of the CRPP, St. Bernard Parish is integrating resilience into a water resource management plan for the entire parish and the central wetland unit, including the 9th Ward, to coordinate the development and management of water, land, and related resources.

Check back for more information on this project as the planning documents are finalized and made available.
